About Comenius University
Comenius University is the oldest and the biggest university in Slovakia because it was founded on June 27th, 1919. Comenius University follows the university tradition of the Academia Istropolitana which was established in Bratislava by Matthias Corvinus, the Hungarian King, in 1465. Faculty of medicine exists since 1919. University consists of 13 faculties. There are 27,000 students enrolled in all three-degree study programmes, within which are almost 2,400 international students from 70 countries. Comenius University has more than 340 partners: European universities located in 30 countries, all of which have concluded bilateral agreements with Comenius university as part of the Erasmus+ programme. The most visited countries by our students as part of the LLP/ERASMUS programme include Spain, Germany and the Czech Republic.
About Faculty of pharmacy in Bratislava
Faculty of Pharmacy of the Comenius University has accomplished important scientific results in all branches of scientific and research activities which we carry out at our Faculty.
The Faculty provides Master Study Programme ‘Pharmacy’ which is fully compatible with the system of preparation of pharmacists within the EU. Since 2002 the Faculty also provides the study for Bachelor degree in Sanitary and Diagnostic Devices. Apart from the educational work, an important part of the Faculty life consists of scientific and research activities which have been oriented mainly on separate aspects of drugs and medicines. Before 1989 research work used to be coordinated within the frame of the state plan of research, these days it is supported mainly by national and international grant agencies.

Where is Bratislava located?
Faculty of Pharmacy of Comenius University is located in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. Bratislava is located in western Slovakia and is only 50 kilometres away from Vienna, capital of Austria (Bratislava and Austria are 2 closest capitals in the world).
STUDY PROGRAM Pharmacy
The programme is focused on drug and pharmaceutical issues within the framework of health and drug policy, as well as theoretical and methodological aspects of dispensation activities, and communication with patient/client while implementing pharmaceutical processes. To obligatory courses belong, for example: Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Botany, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Immunology, Microbiology, Radiopharmaceuticals. Students can also choose from a list of compulsory elective courses like Immunodiagnostics, Medicinal Plants, Biotechnology, New Trends in Analytical Chemistry, Xeniobiochemistry. Practice in a Community Pharmacy is an opportunity for each student to get in touch with a real-life pharmaceutical experience. A student is obliged to sign up for not less than 40 credits, maximum 90 credits, in one academic year. A recommended amount of credits per one academic year is 60.
Tuition fees and related costs
Tuition fee for the academic year 2019/2020 amounts to 7 500 EUR. The fee is paid annually and covers the period of one academic year, i.e. from September 1st to August 31st.
If you stick to student standard of living, you can survive with 400-500€ (depends on the cost of rented flat) a month.
Entrance exam
Students must take an entrance examination, which consists of questions from biology and chemistry. Set of questions may be bought from the faculty of provided by us.
Set of questions and answers for entrance exam from Biology contains 566 questions with answers. There are multiple answers, which means that none, one, more than one or all answers can be correct/incorrect. The answer key is at the back of the book.

Cost of entrance examination is 60€.
