The entrance examination is not required – after submission of documents, it is needed to pass Skype interview which is focused mainly on English skills and motivation to study in Slovakia. Applicants who pass Skype interview will be given a conditional admission letter. The final letter will be issued after nostrification of degree.
Course Details of Bachelor level:
The graduate of the study program Finance, Banking and Investment acquires knowledge and skills to:
- specify and propose sets of measures for decision-making processes of management bodies,
- work with the instruments of the economic, social, and financial policy used by management bodies for decision-making,
- apply the knowledge acquired in financial markets, banking, accounting and tax counseling to deal creatively with the tasks related to financial markets and financial management of the business sphere;
- continue studies at 2nd level in the study program Finance, Banking and Investment,
- systematize and analyze current problems in the field of finance applying basic knowledge of the legislative environment, methods and techniques of analysis used to solve general problems as well as methods of management applicable to finance at the enterprise level,
- apply basic methods and techniques of project writing and management, basic methods of analysis and research, and statistical methods,
- communicate effectively in at least one foreign language, with a working knowledge of another foreign language.
Course details of Master level:
The graduate of the second degree of the study program Finance, Banking and Investment at EkF TUKE has a complex knowledge of finance, banking, investment and insurance, masters the methods of quantification, model simulation and verification to creatively assess the basic economic and financial relationships of economies of countries, sectors and companies, act and to make decisions based on knowledge of broad socio-economic context. Therefore, graduates have a wide application in the corporate sector, public and private sectors, in tax institutions, or. as tax advisers, in the economic and research sections of central banks and commercial banks, in financial market institutions, in international financial institutions and in state administration bodies at all levels.

Details about the study program: The standard duration of study is 2 years. Graduates of the Master´s degree have completed the second degree of tertiary education. The graduate of the Master´s study will be awarded the academic degree of Engineer (in short form “Ing.”). Graduates of this program can perform a wide range of jobs in a host of different industries and other sectors of both the national and international economies. Although the largest share of the graduates works in financial institutions, they are also to be found in other businesses and organizations in both the private and public sectors, including customs and tax authorities, other government bodies at all levels, and in the field of tax advice. The fact that the study program is taught in English and at the same time includes the participation of foreign universities gives students a chance to improve their language skills and professional preparedness, and it also enhances the market reputation of their qualification, the standing of the Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University and its partner universities. The structure of the program and its component courses together with the expertise and research experience of the teachers allow students not only to prepare for professional practice, but also to learn how to become expert researchers and teachers in the fields of financial management, international finance, international accounting, banking, monetary theory and policy, and financial markets.
